You're Engaged!! Now What?

First of all, congratulations are in order! This is such an exciting time of life and you deserve all the celebration! You’ve got that rock on your finger, your family and friends are so happy for you. And they’re probably ALREADY asking you, “when are you getting married, am I invited?”. Your head is spinning and you don’t even know where to start all the planning. Here are some tips to help you navigate this exciting life event!

Call Your Loved Ones

This moment is one of the best times of your life. You wouldn’t want your best friend to find out you got #engaged through a Facebook post right? So go ahead and grab a phone to call those who are most important to you. Your best friend would probably LOVE a Facetime so she can see that new shiny rock! Chances are, Mom and Dad have already been clued in but who wouldn’t love to hear the happy news!

Cheers – Time to Celebrate!

Don’t let this life moment get away from you! Plan an #engagementparty for your family and friends to attend. It gives everyone a chance to meet and finally put a face to a name! Or if your style is more low key, round up some friend and head out for celebratory drinks. Either way, your engagement is definitely worth toasting to!

Insure That Rock

We know, it’s not exactly the most glamorous of jobs during your engagement, but it is a must. (And it could save you in the long run – though we never hope that happens!) Surprisingly, it’s pretty inexpensive. Your policy can even be added as an extension on to your existing homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy. Trust us, it’s worth it!

Set A Date (or at least think about one!)

You’ll be a couple days into your brand new engagement and your excited families will ask, “So when’s the wedding?”. It’s okay to not have answer to that question just yet. But to make answering the question just a little easier on yourself, sit down as a couple and just start brainstorming your favorite seasons, months, or even your favorite numbers - it's all about that perfect date!

It’s All About the Budget

We get it, it can be uncomfortable. Money talks, but no one likes to talk about money. Setting your #budget will help determine most of the components of your wedding. Having a larger budget will allow you to have a larger guest list, maybe an open bar, and some of those extras you have your eye on! It’s important to sit down and have those conversations with your family and friends who may be willing to help contribute for your big day. Or if it’s just you and your fiancé, it’s still important to discuss that number!

Wedding Size + Venues

After you’ve narrowed down your budget, the next step will be coming up with your guest list. Here’s your chance to invite your childhood best friends, college roomies, work friends, and of course family! Our best advice to developing this list is to write down your full list for both of you, and then go back and start making cuts. The reason why it’s good to do this while venue searching is because many venues have guest limits. Some may only hold 75 while others can hold 250. You’ll be able to mark certain venues off the list if you have a good idea of your guest count!

Inspo!

So you’ve found that venue that you’ve always dreamed about, it’s time to get some #inspiration! We all know you have that wedding #Pinterest board that you’ve been pinning to for years! Your taste and the trends have probably changed over the years, so we suggest starting a new board. You can keep adding to it yourself and eventually share it with your wedding planner and other vendors so they can get a glimpse of your vision! You know that app called #Instagram? It’s a game changer for inspo! You can follow local venues, wedding planners, and florists to get a good sense of trends in your area.

Wedding Planner!

You have your venue, guest count, and you’re feeling inspired… now what? If you’re feeling overwhelmed and just don’t know your next step, it’s time to hire a #weddingplanner! With our years of experience, we’ll help match you up with the perfect vendors based on your style and vision. We can help with as much or as little of the planning as you’d like – we’re here for you!

Take a Breather

Wedding planning can become stressful at times, it’s important to take time to just relax. Have a date night! See a movie, get massages, take a weekend trip, or go mini golfing. Taking some time to remember why you’re getting #married in the first place will help to keep this time of life, and a little less stressful and a little more fun!

We want to wish you the absolute best through all of your planning! Enjoy the fun (and at times crazy) ride. If it anytime you need some second opinions or f in the first place will help to keep this time of life, and a little less st in the first place will help to keep this time of life, and a little less stressful and a little more fun!find yourself needing a wedding planner, we'd love to chat!
